Savannah is one of America's greatest cities and Artillery Bar is one of her greatest cocktail bars. Situated in a beautifully restored 19th-century building that once served as an artillery storage space for the Georgia Hussar (a cavalry unit founded before that American Revolution that still functions as part of the Georgia National Guard today), the Artillery Bar features elegant decor, an inviting ambiance, and a carefully crafted menu of libations. The bar itself is a microcosm of larger Savannah - a city that manages to retain its historic charm and architecture while blending in modern hospitality and tastes.
Upon entering Artillery, you'll immediately notice its stunning design, which artfully blends the building's historic features, such as the exposed brick and large spanning arch with contemporary touches, such as a single marble slab bar backsplash.
Artillery's talented bartenders, including lead Jeffrey Lyle, provide guests with a diverse selection of handcrafted cocktails. Like the space, the menu splits offerings between "Contemporary" and "Classic". Smoke & Mirrors is a contemporary cocktail made of mezcal verde, yellow chartreuse, with house made blackberry and sage shrub, lemon and blackberries. Traditionalists will love Artillery's simply perfect Manhattan made from Michter's Small Batch Bourbon, Bordiga Rosso vermouth, and Angostura orange bitters.
