Nestled in the lively Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, Rob Roy is a classic cocktail bar that's become a local favorite for the best cocktails in the Emerald City. Rob Roy describes itself as "a cocktail den celebrating classic drinks with a bit of punk cheek." Its decor, featuring dark wood paneling, forest green wallpaper, black plush leather couches, and lots of vinyl records, is what you might imagine a retired grunge rocker would age into.
For the past decade, the bar has explored and experimented with classic American cocktails, while sourcing ingredients from all over the world. Our favorites include the Saffron Sandalwood Sour, made from dry gin, saffron sharbat, citrus, Angostura, and egg white. But you can't go wrong with the House Old Fashioned, served for over 12 years on the rock - just one, hand-carved - and available with any aged spirit: brandy, rum, tequila, whiskey...
Rob Roy's "Ridiculously Happy Hour" is another highlight, offering discounted cocktails and enticing bar bites from 4 pm to 6 pm daily. The Flatliner Boiler Maker (Bitburger pils + Flatliner shot) is a callback to when miners ended their shift with a shot and beer... though it's equally popular with the data miners that now roam Seattle's tech industry.
Finally, Rob Roy offers an impressive selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Its Rightside, a Paloma-Mojito mix, shows that you don't need spirits to make a great cocktail.
